• Hardware includes all the physical components that together form a system.

1. In a computer, processors ,memory, secondary storage, I/O devices are the hardware resources.

• Hardware – Types

1. Hardware Components present in the computer are broadly classified as Internal and External.

• Internal Components

1. Motherboard 
2. Processor 
3. RAM 
4. CD­ROM 
5. Hard Disk Drive 
6. Power Supply 
7. Power Cable 
8. Graphics Card 

• External Components 

1. Monitor 
2. Keyboard 
3. Mouse 
4. Computer Casing Printer 

                                                       Software

• Software includes set of instructions and data that instruct the computer on what to do and how to do.
• Software is more often known as computer programs which instruct the hardware to perform specific actions. 
• Programs are written in High Level Languages.
• High Level Languages are converted into Low Level Assembly Languages
• Low Level Assembly Languages are converted into Machine Language which is easier for hardware to interpret. 
• Software is broadly classified into the following three types based on their use: 

1. Application Software 
2. System Software 
3. Malware
